Volunteers - We Need Your Help

“The future which we hold in trust for our own children will be shaped by our fairness to other people’s children”- Marian Wright Edelman.  Whether you are a parent or not, we should all think about how we can make a difference in the lives of children that cross our paths.  If we are honest with ourselves, we will all be able to recognize that we are who we are today because of an adult other than our parents that saw our potential and invested in us.  These adults taught us the skills, gave us the confidence or introduced us to people that we needed to know to help us develop personally and professionally.  We can never repay these individuals for all they brought to our lives; however we can honor them by pouring into those coming behind us what they poured into us. SEM Link is a wonderful organization for you to pour into those that are coming behind you, by helping us promote student achievement and career exploration in math and science for K-12 students.

We recognize that there are undergraduate students, graduate students, professionals and retirees with a diverse set of knowledge and expertise that are willing and able to help us achieve our mission. Our volunteer opportunities aren’t limited to those with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) backgrounds or those who live in Metropolitan Atlanta or San Francisco Bay Area.   We have a diverse set of opportunities that will allow you to donate your time and talent to promote students achievement and career exploration in math and science.  We value our volunteers with STEM backgrounds as they pass on their passion and expertise for math and science.  Individuals that don’t have STEM backgrounds can assist us with event coordination, fundraising and other aspects of our programming and operations, many of which are virtual volunteer opportunities.SEM Link can’t achieve its mission in the community without people who donate their time and professional expertise to help us “unveil potential through exposure”.
